It's fair to say that most of us have been surprised by the extent of the energy price increases, and like all industries, the changes are having a profound effect on us individually day to day and on all businesses.

Winter 2023 has been an interesting one so far with many guests taking short breaks rather than week bookings, not uncommon for this time of year, however it has definitely been the preference through the Winter.

​

It would be pure speculation to take a view on how busy a season we would have this summer, however I hear more and more stories of people enjoying and in some cases preferring to holiday in the UK. We need to consider how people's choice of holiday will be impacted by the increase in energy prices. What I have observed is that bookings are appearing more last minute, potentially a response to people wanting to budget more carefully?

At this stage of the year we await to see what Easter brings, with some properties still having gaps in bookings, which is not typical for this stage of the year. 

​

So in conclusion, the only prediction that can be potentially made is that it could all be very 'last minute' , as we see guests considering their options nearer the time!
